Georgian Crowned Heart Ring
An exceptional 18 karat Georgian "Crowned Heart" ring with an (approx.) 1 carat central natural sapphire and a mix of 24 surrounding old cut diamonds. I believe the diamond surround was originally all rose cuts but over time (this is a very old ring!) a few were lost and replaced with OMCs. The settings are silver over gold, popular at the time to increase the visual impact of the stones. This beauty has a rayed rococo back in addition to ornate floral shoulders set with two larger old mine cut diamonds. A US size 8.5, I’ve added a removable (not soldered) ring guard to reduce it to a more wearable size 8. This ring can be resized although I recommend preserving its integrity if possible.
